Discover the KDA Difference

Learning through wonder, creativity and joy in a relationship-based environment

Fostering Play and Knowledge Hand-in-Hand

  • Curriculum activities run all day long, morning and afternoon, so your child will be learning, engaged, and having fun...all without pressure and in an energetic format.
  • KDA curriculum, conferences, and assessments are aligned with Oregon's Early Learning Guidelines. From infancy, until your student leaves for kindergarten, each month they will be progressing on their personal and academic journey.
  • There is no testing anxiety at KDA! All of our assessments are done through free play or play-based activities with friends and teachers.

A Core KDA Value: Respect

  • Children are unique individuals who deserve to be treated respectfully in all areas: emotionally, socially, physically, and academically. We would love to show you specifically how we carry out this commitment during your Tour.

  • Families are the primary force in their child's lives. Through Tadpoles, either via email or an app, you will see pictures, videos, lesson plans, and all the details of your child's day. Plus, KDA is truly a community - you and your child will be known and cared for.
  • KDA supports our teachers with a positive, coaching management style and a strong Paid-Time Off policy that ensures they can care for and educate your child each day.

Communication is Key!

At Kids Discovery Academy, open communication is one of our highest priorities.  We love to hear how things are going at home, and we want you to know all about your child's day.  This communication is the foundation for a family/school partnership that will support your child in the best possible manner.

  • Our convenient Tadpoles system lets teachers record and share your child's daily activities meals, diaper or potty activity, naps, curriculum plans, and announcements.  All the information as well as pictures, short videos, and individual notes are sent to parents via email or easily accessible by parents with the free Tadpoles Parent App.
  • In-person communication is always available.  Families can make appointments or just pop into the office to chat with someone on the Leadership Team. Of course your child's Teacher is available at drop-off or pick-up and by phone during the day as well.
