Our Nutrition Specialist and Teaching staff have extensive experience in supporting families who are dealing with various food allergies or religious dietary needs. If food is a concern for your family, feel free to speak with the Director regarding the safety measures and possible accommodations KDA has in place for your child. As in all other matters, Kids Discovery Academy believes that open, honest, two-way communication is the key to successfully supporting our students.

Growing children need food made with care and thought.  Instead of using a food delivery or supply service, we incorporate a wide variety of fresh, ethnic and homemade-from-scratch dishes (sweet and sour chicken, muffins, mac and cheese and more).

Food taste better when your child is a part of creating it! Cooking projects  designed by our Nutrition Specialist (who is also Teacher qualified in all age groups!) introduce fresh produce, ethnic foods,  staple ingredients or a cooking skill for students to discover. Each classroom can also plan other cooking projects to explore the curriculum theme or build on the interests of their individual students.

Cooking Projects begin in the Early Preschool classroom and continue in the Preschool and Pre-K programs. Cooking projects are designed to give your child a chance to explore hands-on math skills, play with cause and effect, to grow in fine motor skills and provide a healthy exposure to new foods and flavors.
